GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP

Reporting to the Label Manager, this is a unique opportunity to receive project-based work that requires strategy, teamwork, ingenuity, and creativity, as well as tactical responsibilities that expose the intern first-hand to the experiences of a full-time Graphic Design professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist team by generating concepts, problem solving and design of new artists’ cover art, tour posters, various marketing and sales materials.
  • Work on all aspects of packaging including graphic layout, packaging structure concept, logo design, typography, print production and photography (including photo retouching and assisting at photo shoots).

Please keep in mind that Manic Kat Records internships are unpaid.

Qualifications:

  • Strong typography
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Experience with packaging design is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people of all levels and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to determine solutions, make sound judgments and carry out actions in an effective manner
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work without missing critical deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe CS 6, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign on Mac Platform

Education:

Qualified candidates will be actively enrolled and working towards a degree in Graphic Design and will have completed a minimum 2 years of undergraduate study at an accredited university.

Credit will be given toward college internships.

RECORDING ENGINEER INTERNSHIP

We are looking to hire new Recording Studio Engineer Interns to assist in recording/engineering needs for our in-house studio. We are looking forward to meeting anyone who is prompt, professional, and ready to learn new things as they pertain to the recording industry. You must be ready and willing to commit 2-3 days a week for your duration.

PLEASE NOTE:

This is for local residents only within the city of New York and the surrounding nearby suburbs! Do not send in applications if you live outside of the city of New York and surrounding suburbs!

ALSO, internships are unpaid and for course credit and/or valuable work experience.

Application Requirements:

  • Must be available 2-3 days a week
  • Mac computer skills
  • Transportation Required
  • Must be proficient with Avid Pro Tools HD
  • Must be a fast learner
  • Must be able to think out of the box

Duties:

  • Assisting sessions
  • Setting up mics and recording equipment
  • May lead to running sessions (supervised)
  • Credit on recordings that you assist/engineer
  • Credit towards college internships.

SOCIAL AND DIGITAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP

The Social and Digital Media Intern will play an active role in the development of Manic Kat Records’ online community. The intern will maintain Manic Kat Records’ presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to our customer base. He/she will regularly analyze and report on the activity on social media networks as well as the company website.

He/she will also assist in maintaining Manic Kat Records’ archive of digital images, videos, and other content. The intern will learn how to reach communities, and promote events or programs through the internet and gain experience in social media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.

Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Updates Instagram account.
  • Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with Manic Kat Records.
  • Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content.
  • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our fan base and posts it to our Instagram page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
  • Updates Instagram account with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from company activities and events.
  • Grows company’s online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions.
  • Completes other social media projects as assigned.

Digital Media

  • Takes pictures and videos of shows and label events to be developed into content for the company’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
  • Organizes and archives digital images and videos.
  • Completes other digital media projects as assigned.

Research

  • Regularly observes the online activity of model organizations researches and reports on “social media best practices.”
  • Completes other research projects as assigned.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Uses Google Analytics to assess trends and activity on the company website.
  • Uses Facebook Insights to assess trends and activity on the cFacebook page.
  • Uses Twitter Analytics to assess trends and activity on the Talerang Twitter page.
  • Reviews data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach.

Requirements:

  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be a junior in college with a focus in advertising, public relations, marketing or music business
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, basic photo-editing and video-editing software, and internet browsers. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
  • Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat.
  • Available to work 15 hours per week.

Eligibility:

  • This is a part-time internship and we require that you bring your own computer to complete internship projects and tasks.

Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities. Most importantly, the candidate should be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks in a start-up environment. This internship will benefit someone who is interested in marketing, education, community relations, and audience development.

VIDEOGRAPHY INTERNSHIP

We are looking to hire new Videography Interns to assist in filming/editing music videos for our artists as well as other web media content. We are looking forward to meeting anyone who is prompt, professional, and ready to learn new things as they pertain to the music industry. You must be ready and willing to commit 2-3 days a week for your duration.
